Network Development Engineer, AWS Center for Quantum Computing
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire a Network Development Engineer in the Quantum Infrastructure and Production group. We are seeking a motivated candidate who can who can design new network architectures, configure physical network hardware, and secure networking technology stack. As a network development engineer in our organization you are expected to communicate across multiple stakeholders including scientists, engineers, organizational partners, external vendors, and leadership. You are also expected to troubleshoot on-premise and remote infrastructure, automate the monitoring of prototype and production systems, and serve in a customer facing support role for our internal service team. On this team you will wear many hats, work smart, and iterate quickly. Successful applicants will have strong written and verbal communication skills, a track record of successfully delivering complex network projects with ambitious timelines, and experience working with local and cross-region environments. Key job responsibilities• Deploy, automate, and scale network infrastructure across new and existing mission critical environments• Develop proposals and influence without authority to align business and technical stakeholders on approach• Identify and troubleshoot recurring networking, routing, and platform issues towards resolution while engaging with mid and senior-level engineering teams• Create and review documentation and processes for new builds, standard operating procedures, strategic planning, etc.• Identify and deliver on opportunities to automate repeatable networking tasks by creating and maintaining scripts or toolsA day in the lifeAs a Network Engineer as Amazon, your core job responsibility is to design network topologies, architectures, and services that solve for many requirements. The primary area of responsibility you will have is to design ahead of customer or technology needs, always predicting and solving for problems that have not yet occurred.
