And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The AMER AWS Infrastructure Data Center Delivery team is looking for a Manager to lead a team of Technical Infrastructure Program Managers (TIPM) to deliver capacity across clusters in Canada and Latin America as well as drive innovative infrastructure programs and new initiatives to improve capacity utilization and availability in existing data centers.AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This leader drives the development and adoption of strategies in their region, initiates programs that address regional and global challenges and programs, coordinates and drives execution with local partner teams, removes obstacles during implementation, and reports progress and risks on all in-flight programs. They should be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. They are expected to become a voice of the region to influence new global initiatives and programs that will inform the next generation of Data Centers. They are expected to drive improvements in overall program execution, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency. Successful candidates likely have a background in a technical discipline (architecture, engineering, or other sciences) or have experience in program management of complex initiatives. They are able to build trust and relationships with various stakeholders, and have strong problem solving skills. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments is a plus. Successful candidates are likely to be passionate, manage ambiguity well, and are eager to solve complex problems.Candidates must be comfortable managing a team reporting to them located both locally and remotely. Successful candidates possess the ability to work with teams to troubleshoot project technical implementation issues and remove barriers to project success. Being able to lead cross-functional teams, establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery is a must. Successful candidates will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of a project's lifecycle. They will also exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.Key job responsibilities- As a Manager you will build, mentor, and manage a high-performance team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, drive career growth, and ensure team efficiency.- Demonstrating tactical and strategic thinking and applying high judgement to ensure data center delivery for customers.- Developing and reviewing metrics and assessing performance against targets to identify improvements to delivery timelines and opportunities to close gaps.- Diving deep into capacity issues to identify risks and opportunities, and resolving constraints by negotiating across multiple stakeholders.- Providing concise written and verbal communication to a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from project summaries to stakeholders, summary of technical discussions, or communications with Senior Executives for strategic decisions.For the regions owned by this leader, the role involves partnering with various stakeholder teams during data center delivery:- Real Estate to support the feasibility and selection of new sites; - Energy to ensure suitable grid connection is available; - Design Engineering to coordinate project specific inputs, constraints and risks into designs;- Procurement to secure on time delivery of critical equipment;- Construction Management to track budget & progress; and - Operations to complete the project with successful handover, to name but a few. Lead stakeholder meetings to align partner teams, share progress, and escalate quickly to deliver business outcome. Communicate clearly, and proactively to remove roadblocks, pave the way for innovation, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
