We are seeking an experienced Principal Talent Management leader to join our AADA People eXperience and Technology (PXT) team. AADA encompasses four distinct businesses at the forefront of innovation - Ads, IMDb, and Grand Challenge (AIGC), Amazon Web Services (AWS) & Sustainability, Devices and Services (D&S), and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Ads, IMDb, and Grand Challenge (AIGC): AIGC comprises Amazon's advertising business, the popular IMDb entertainment database, and a team tackling innovative moonshot projects. Leadership in this area would allow you to shape the future of ambient intelligence and connected home/life experiences.Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): The AGI team has the bold mission of building transformative general-purpose AI services to benefit all of Amazon's businesses. Guiding this effort would put you at the forefront of the race to develop advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. The ability to collaborate and work effectively with and through others across the extended AADA and Amazon talent management community is critical to the success of this role. The Principal Talent Management leader must be highly skilled in communication, cross-team collaboration, and effectively driving outcomes across diverse stakeholders and partners. This role requires dealing with a high level of ambiguity and feeling comfortable operating in a space often with little direction to solve hard, complex talent and organizational business problems. You must also be an excellent operator who can break down large plans into tangible initiatives and goals, and track these closely to deliver results. The Principal Talent Management leader is a skilled communicator and facilitator, with experience driving strategic people conversations with executive level leaders. This is a great opportunity for a strong systems thinker to directly impact mechanisms we use to identify, develop, and deploy executive talent. As a senior member of the AADA PXT team, this role provides ample opportunity to design innovative solutions and regularly engage with key HR and business leaders. Key job responsibilitiesThe Principal Talent Management leader is responsible for ensuring executive talent management processes (e.g. Directors and VPs) are launched, scaled, and improved upon for functional roles across the organization. This includes leading the talent cadence for comprehensive succession planning, critical role mapping and talent movement across a global organization. In doing so, the Principal Talent Management leader ensures our Amazon leaders are consistently inspecting and assessing their organizational design, the strength of their leadership teams and succession plans, the depth of our leadership pipeline, their leadership capacity needs, and whether we have an optimal match between critical talent and critical roles. When opportunity to improve is identified, the Principal, Talent Management leader consults with relevant business leaders and then builds, iterates, and scales solutions to address.A day in the lifeThe Principal Talent Management leader will plan, coordinate, and facilitate executive level talent cadences, including succession planning and talent reviews. They work backwards from the needs of the business to derive talent strategies and partner with HR and business leaders to align on and execute plans. They not only run the talent cadence, they are a consultant and thought partner with the HR and business leaders regarding critical talent, succession readiness, and development planning.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor’s degree• 10+ years progressive in Talent Management or Human Resources.• Demonstrates business and HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical acuity.• Proficient in partnering effectively with senior leaders through skillful navigation of ambiguous situations using strategic planning and effective project management.• Communication, coaching and influencing skills across diverse counterparts, globally. ...
