The Site Procurement Operations Center (SPOC) is seeking an Operations Manager to drive key initiatives across our global organization. You will be responsible for managing a large team of associates and managers and delivering results for our business partners. You will work with partners at sites and with category managers and vendors to drive non-inventory supply readiness to hundreds of Amazon sites. You will work cross functionally across Global Procurement Operations (GPO) pillars including Category, Supplier Management, and Site Procurement while partnering with operations and suppliers to balance risk and efficiency in our global supply chain. This role will be required to invent and simplify and continually rethink how we manage inventory, execute our processes, raise our level of service for customers, and insist on the highest standards in developing our team. You will be at the center of the indirect supply chain at Amazon, working across functional lines to bring together non-inventory, operations, transportation, and safety teams to ensure the movement of supply through the Amazon network.

The Site Procurement Operations Center (SPOC), reporting into the Global Procurement Organization (GPO), ensures that Amazon gets value for money for non-inventory goods to provide the Fulfillment Centers with the necessary shipping supplies they need to operate smoothly. This includes securing the constant flow of packaging goods and services, supplied at the best overall value to the business on a day to day basis, Blanket Purchase Order management, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) bridging ownership, Accounts Payable invoice hold resolution, site launch support, and escalation management. SPOC currently provides these services for ~1600 sites across 15 countries. The team has two divisions: North America (NA) and Europe (EUK).


Key job responsibilities
- Manage an org of ~40 managers, team leads, and specialists executing on consumable ordering, invoice on hold management, service escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives within the indirect supply chain
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to ensure the continuity of supply of goods and services within the network
- Manage multiple complex cross-team projects end-to-end
- Partner with internal teams to identify problems and real-time solutions, including data analytics and reporting
- Provide weekly reporting of team performance and KPIs to senior leadership
- Create buy-in for the vision with key internal partners

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years supply chain management experience (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, operations)
- 5+ years of previous managerial experience in a fulfillment center/distribution center environment of hourly and salaried employees
- Supplier Relationship Management (e.g. performance/scorecarding)
- 3+ years of experience with procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba
- 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams to deliver projects
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree (MBA, Math, Engineering, Science)
- Lean/Six Sigma Master Black Belt
- Experience deploying transactional lean, manufacturing lean, variation reduction, and design for six sigma methodologies
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
- Advanced analytics and advanced Excel skills
