A Sr Front End Engineer in the Partner Experience Engineering organization is responsible for setting the technical direction for front end development in our organization. As a team, we own PV Slate, a partner facing website that helps partner manage their catalog with prime video and grow their business. We also own internal tooling that helps Prime Video operators ensure that content is published on time and without defects.

A Sr FEE for our org therefore has to help the organization balance the varying needs of the UI and create architectural components that are usable in a variety of use-cases, both internal and external. Additionally, they must take a hands on approach in building our most complex and impactful systems themselves, or as leaders of a team. The will lead the organization in selecting our core front end frameworks, balancing flexibility with ease of use, especially by developers who have limited Front End Experience. Finally, you must be a leader across the org, as many of our UIs are federated to teams outside partner experience, to make sure our frameworks meet the needs of external orgs.

Key job responsibilities
1. Design highly complex front end components that address a multitude of often contradictory usecases
2. Implement the most critical of the components defined in #1.
3. Help the organization ensure that we are using the correct UX frameworks for our long term success
4. Ensure that teams with limited UI experience can succeed in building high quality UIs through the frameworks we provide.

A day in the life
As a Sr FEE, on a typical day you would start on building critical components within projects that you are leading. On specific days you would be a key contributor in our org Design Reviews, and write your designs as needed. You will participate in Sr Engineer office hours once a week, to help mentor more junior teammates. Finally, you will work with our product and design teams to help ensure that our technical and UX directions remain aligned.
