This is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2025 located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations or other operations buildings. Our warehouses are fast-paced supply chain environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common.As an Area Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach, motivate and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse environment. The Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is deeply committed to the safety and wellbeing of our people. WHS sets the strategic direction to provide resources, best practices, and safe environments to proactively manage the health and wellbeing of our workforce. To support these goals, Amazon is seeking an experienced and dynamic Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team. In this position, you will work closely with the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS). This includes attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site or through daily one-on-one interaction. Additionally, the OMR will participate in weekly case management review meetings as necessary. As an OMR, you will independently assess and administer first aid as well as offer guidance to Amazon Associates (AAs) on both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses. You should be passionate about learning and advocating health and wellness principles to consistently support AAs on a daily basis. You will refer care to outside medical providers as needed, and learn about OSHA regulations, risk, and analysis. In this position, you will be responsible for partnering with the site level operations team for your designated site in order to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and Kaizen events, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in Amazon’s processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates.In this role, you must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the cross functional operations teams, and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. To do so, you must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will also be required to instruct and train operations leadership and site WHS professionals in company EHS policies while assisting the regional teams in incorporating our safety standards at their sites.
