Interim Process Assistant

The Interim Process Assistant is assigned to the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to the different Sort Center areas. Key Job Elements: • Support and work in the department as required • Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers • Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline) • Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours • Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance • Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance • Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity • Filling in as needed with production duties • Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals • Reviewing and updating SOP as required • Assisting in keeping work area clean and organized • Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area • Coaching associates to work safely at all times • Participating in safety initiatives • Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager Preferred Qualifications: • Education beyond High School, and/or prior experience managing employees • Excellent interpersonal skills • Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills • Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of Amazon associates and management • Experience with an FC kaizen or Shingi event • An awareness and willingness to use OE tools and techniques • Experience working in Problem Solve a plus • Leadership ability • Respect from associates in production areaBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications: • Associates must be in good standing • Ability to work overtime as required • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas • Continued meeting or exceeding of department performance goals ...

Senior Regional EHS Manager, Sort Centers - Midwest Region Two

To support this priority, Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for partnering with a regional operations team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for Amazon’s Associates. In this role, you must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the cross functional operations teams, and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. To do so, you must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will also be required to instruct and train operations leadership and site WHS professionals in company EHS policies while assisting the regional teams in incorporating our safety standards at their sites. Your experience working in safety programs and your relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge in an operations environment will be crucial. You will be responsible for developing a team of safety managers and safety professionals within your designated region. Your teams’ success will depend on your ability to create and execute leadership development plans for your larger team. You must demonstrate your ability to clearly communicate organizational direction through your team and give frequent and appropriate feedback to your WHS teams while ensuring they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional. As a senior leader in the WHS organization, you will also be responsible for judging and assessing safety talent to select appropriate bench strength for current and future business needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy. • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.• Measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.• Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provides Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives.• Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations. Deliver quality projects on time to Operations.• Analyze WHS metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.• Analyze Global Safety Peer Review results and develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other FCs.• Audit recordkeeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and local regulations.• Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.• Manage and mentor the FC WHS Manager and WHS Associates in your assigned FCs.• Spend time at the fulfillment centers and seek input from WHS teams, Associates and leaders on WHS program improvement opportunities. Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.• Lead soft tissue injury reduction efforts by performing targeted Kaizens in partnership with the Operations teams based on the risks identified in each task (force, repetition, and awkward postures).• Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS training.• Review for effectiveness the deployed WHS tools and revise to ensure continual improvement.• Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS and environmental best practices into NA network standards. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor’s degree• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management • CPR/First Aid Certification• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.• Ability to travel up to 50%• Office within one of the designated region's sites.
