The Chronicle team is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer who can creatively solve complex data and metrics problems. We build global data products that proactively surface insights to help plan, grow, and optimize Amazon’s business.

In this role you will be responsible for solving complex and ambiguous data and metric problems. You will influence business-critical questions across multiple organizations and geographies. You should have a track record of end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You should be able to work on complex initiatives, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of the customers.

* Translate complex, technical concepts into business terms and vice versa
* Work with technology and data teams to support the development of tools and dashboards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- 3+ years of professional experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role
- 2+ years experience with SQL, ETL, Data Warehouse solutions and databases
- Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as Python
- Advanced skills in data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
- Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
- 5+ years of industry experience working as a BIE or related specialty
- Proficient in statistical programming language (e.g., Python) for data extraction/ manipulation, statistical analysis/modeling, and automation
- Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling
- Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
