Amazon is seeking an innovative and high-judgement Compliance Specialist to join the Audit & Assurance Excellence team within Amazon Privacy Services. Amazon Privacy Services drives product design, tech development, and program mechanisms required for Amazon to comply with global legal and compliance obligations that protect customer personal or sensitive data, and span most or all of the company. The Audit & Assurance Excellence team is looking for a leader to take ownership of various risk, strategy and external reporting obligations and deliver on critical and high visibility projects.

This space has a high degree of ambiguity, and you must enjoying diving deep into data, solving problems and thinking big, with a strong bias for action. A great candidate will have a unique combination of experience with complex and ambiguous regulatory environments, high judgement in prioritization and trade off decisions, and ability to lead effective risk and compliance projects with different businesses and stakeholders. You will drive risk assessments, escalation, and mitigation strategies across a diverse group of partners and risk disciplines, playing a vital role in ensuring that Amazon complies with global legal and compliance requirements. You will join a team that partners across Amazon businesses to shape the future of Amazon’s evolving risk and compliance programs and where we value ownership, insight, intellectual flexibility, and sound business judgment. You will partner with critical stakeholders in delivering metrics and narrative inputs to various external compliance and risk assessment reports that span numerous Amazon businesses.


Key job responsibilities
· Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's risks and controls and how to analyze them to drive informed decisions.
· Drive detailed discussions and deliver concise verbal and written communication (e.g., risk assessments, risk project/
program requirements, roadmap or other narratives, escalation responses) to stakeholders and leadership on ambiguous
regulatory requirements that apply across Amazon businesses.
· Engage with Business, Legal, Audit, Regulatory, and Policy leaders to reach decisions on hotly debated business and
compliance topics.
· Develop detailed end to end working backwards plans to deliver against aggressive compliance deadlines, including
external risk and compliance reports on behalf of several Amazon businesses.
· Identify inter-team dependencies and align on, then monitor, paths to address them.
· Break problems into manageable pieces, ruthlessly prioritizing, and delivering results in a global environment and on
regional initiatives.
· Dive deep into the control environment and understand the effectiveness of design and operations.
· Facilitate development of mechanisms and policies such as risk registers, risk appetite statements, key risk indicators, and
other insights for partners and stakeholders.
· Providing support in internal and external audit activities as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience handling confidential information
Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent
Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
Experience managing, analyzing and communicating risk across a diverse group of stakeholders
Experience using data analytics for improving controls, project, and cross-team process efficiency
Proven ability to work with high levels of ambiguity
Risk management experience, including: performing risk assessments, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk
Passion for working with business, technical and operational teams, especially in data privacy and data sharing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
Relevant certifications (CISA, CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE, PECB, CDP)
Experience with GRC and data analytic tools
Experience or knowledge of privacy regulations
Experience with process improvement, Kaizen, and six sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $99,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $164,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
