The US ADC Security Communications Security (COMSEC) team maintains all cryptographic materiel supporting the secure network resources that protect the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of data traversing US classified networks.

AWS is looking for an exceptional COMSEC practitioner to serve as the Principal Security Specialist for the COMSEC team. This position will help the team scale the COMSEC program to deliver for and across U.S. Government customers. You will develop strategic goals, and use high judgement to design the right team structure, mechanisms, and strategy to meet goals.

You will join a team of industry-leading security experts working with the U.S. Government to operate and continuously improve industry-leading security programs and processes in support of the mission. This position requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer obsession and a focus on quality and delivering results. A successful candidate will have an established track record of supporting security programs within cleared facilities, demonstrable COMSEC program/project management experience, comprehensive networking knowledge, and a deep understanding of Intelligence Community and Department of Defense government security programs, processes, and requirements in the cloud service provider space.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities
- Responsible for providing comprehensive COMSEC technical and program guidance.
- Proactively identify program and process improvements to successfully sustain and enhance security execution across multiple IC and DoD programs and customer.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with internal teams (operations staff, engineers, teammates, etc.) and external (vendors, contractors, government staff, etc.) partners to improve COMSEC security awareness and engagement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ years of experience technical and/or program management of COMSEC or cryptography-related domains.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Masters degree or equivalent.
- Experience applying information assurance and information security policies and standards to include system administration tasks.
- Demonstrated track record of growth and increasing responsibility including senior leadership positions that require maturity, judgment, negotiation, analytics, and influence skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topic.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $273,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
