The Organizational Effectiveness team is responsible for diagnosing, designing, and delivering innovative organizational development solutions to drive positive, sustainable growth across the business. We are a team of organizational development experts, program leaders, and analytics professionals ready to tackle a wide range of organizational structure and operating model challenges. We work collaboratively with other groups to enhance the way our organization is structured and positioned, as well as how work is delivered across teams, in order to unlock business impact, and shape the future of work.

Amazon is seeking an experienced organizational effectiveness leader to spearhead high-profile needs across the AWS business. As the Principal, Organization Effectiveness, you will be responsible for envisioning and implementing innovative organizational development solutions that empower our employees and elevate our ability to deliver for customers. Your mission will be to leverage the latest research, data, and methodologies to transform how we structure, align, and operationally enable our workforce.

Key job responsibilities
Organizational Assessment & Design
• Conduct comprehensive organizational assessments to pinpoint opportunities for growth across culture, mindsets, and behaviors
• Collaborate with business leaders to define organizational visions, design principles, and strategic roadmaps
• Design scalable, high-impact organizational solutions (structures, roles, processes, capabilities) tailored to evolving business needs
• Continuously enhance solutions by studying internal data, industry trends, and cutting-edge practices

Organizational Development & Transformation
• Partner with leaders to optimize organizational performance, drive high-performing teams, and manage large-scale changes
• Guide senior teams in resolving role ambiguities, process inefficiencies, and other organizational challenges
• Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide organizational effectiveness experiences, services, and tools

Change Management & Strategic Communication
• Expertly lead dotted-line, cross-functional teams to maximize performance and achieve goals in ambiguous environments
• Develop high-impact, strategic communications that prioritize the user experience and drive adoption of new ways of working
• Set the strategic direction for and lead subject matter experts in delivering purpose-led, resonating change content

Analytics & Continuous Improvement
• Define, track, and communicate appropriate performance metrics to stakeholders
• Leverage data and insights to drive continuous improvement of organizational solutions and increase transformation success
• Partner with analytics experts to holistically evaluate solution effectiveness and unlock organizational value

Travel is expected.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading complex, enterprise-wide organizational development initiatives
• Expertise in organizational design and effectiveness, change management, and strategic workforce planning
• Bar-raising qualitative and quantitative research and analytics skills
• Demonstrated success in organizational assessment, user research, and data-driven solution design
• Proficiency in systems thinking, human-centered design, and organizational development approaches
• Expertise in emerging organizational development practices, tools, and technologies
• Strong business acumen and sound judgment to understand customer needs and shape strategies
• Proven ability to build trusted partnerships, lead matrixed teams, and influence senior stakeholders
• Data-driven decision making and a continuous improvement mindset
• Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field
• Experience with organizational change, talent management, and performance management initiatives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
