The successful candidate will possess a professional understanding of facility fire protection principles such as life safety, property protection, code compliance, as well as be experienced with fire system inspection, testing, and regulatory requirements. This role will engage in a combination of the following fire alarm, water-based suppression, and specialty system activities: system layout (plan preparation), system equipment selection, system installation management, system acceptance testing review, system trouble-shooting, system servicing, and system technical vendor management. Technical areas required of the role include applicable codes and standards, types of detectors and signaling systems, supervision requirements, power requirements, programing, building/space structure and occupancy considerations, basic electricity, and low voltage electronics.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and maintain playbook of best practice processes regarding FLS operation and maintenance, with consideration of local regulations across multiple countries
• Provide technical leadership to on-site RME teams regarding FLS
• Own the governance mechanisms for mitigating, reporting and reviewing false fire alarms
• Deep-dive false fire alarms and other FLS-related issues to identify root causes, and develop and roll out mitigating solutions, collaborating with other teams whenever required
• Provide support to RME and commissioning teams on launch sites, including improvement of the commissioning process itself
• Collaborate with RME and Procurement colleagues responsible for hard and soft facility services in their regions, to work with vendors to support our assets and operation, including routine vendor governance where relevant
• Work with Engineering Services teams to improve the design specifications and subsequent installation of FLS assets
• Report FLS metrics on a routine basis to RME and other teams, including formal written reports to senior leadership
• Develop strategic roadmap for FLS assets, operation and maintenance
• Manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously, while influencing and developing relationships at a range of organization levels

About the team
Global FLS Reliability - Establishes mechanisms to ensure consistent performance of fire and life safety systems at launching and existing sites through policies, metrics, technical support, and fire alarm activation reliability management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in roles leading fire protection or mechanical maintenance programs, quality improvement, project management
• Demonstrated knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques and use of enterprise level information management systems
• Experience in a Fire and Life Safety related role such as system design, installation, maintenance, Code enforcement, auditing, insurance loss control, or other relevant field
Fire Protection and/or relevant professional certification (CFPS, CSP, ARM, RME-G, NICET, etc.)
Outstanding communication skills and ability to successfully interact and negotiate with technical and operational stakeholders, both internal and external
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Fire Protection and/or relevant professional certification (CFPS, CSP, ARM, RME-G, NICET, etc.)
• Experience identifying abnormal FLS system conditions, determining cause, and recommending corrective actions.
• Experience interpreting and applying codes and standards regulating fire protection systems, testing and commissioning, and other related fire/life-safety requirements.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to successfully interact and negotiate with technical and operational stakeholders, both internal and external
• Experience collecting, managing, and utilizing data related to FLS events, maintenance, and costs.
