Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Security is seeking a highly talented and motivated Security Program Manager to join our team. AWS is the leading cloud provider, providing virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world to include the U.S. Intelligence Community.

The role is responsible for overseeing physical security design and the installation of security features and systems including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Camera Surveillance, Passive and Active Barriers, and other security features and capabilities consistent with AWS security standards and contractual requirements. This role will perform security program management in support of new data centers, data center expansions, and special security programs and projects.

You will work directly with the Technical Program Managers (TPMs), Cluster Security Managers (CSMs), Construction Managers (CMs), Security Site Managers, the Operations Team and other customers, both internal and external, to integrate business and operations requirements into physical security design and implementation. Your work will include supporting the design and deployment of physical security packages and security program enhancements for AWS data centers. Additionally, you will author security design, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other security documents for submittal to the U.S. Government.

The ideal candidate for the role will be willing and able to work autonomously with minimal guidance or supervision, to build relationships across peer teams, stakeholders, and partner organizations, at all levels, and to be able to influence cooperation without authority in order to achieve program and project progress and completion. You will have an in-depth knowledge of security practices and technology, be innovative, highly organized and know how to deliver results on time and on budget. You are able to solve ambiguous problems, proactively identify existing or imminent security vulnerabilities, and apply mitigation strategies to reduce overall risk. You may be asked to use your knowledge to assess processes, program plans, and operations requirements to find security solutions or enhancements for routine and unique security requirements. The role will involve 50% local travel to sites within the cluster for project management milestones, sustainment requirements, and hand-off of completed projects to local security operations teams.

This position is located in the Herndon, Virginia area.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead physical security design and construction for new data centers, data center expansions and special projects.
• Preparation of physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation.
• Manage vendor on-boarding, RFP, RFQ, bid, contracting, contract execution, QA/QC, and support processes.
• Effectively and accurately manage multi-million dollar budgets for security projects. Own and track the finance and budgeting process for security programs and projects.
• Representative for physical security operations team acceptance, sign-off, and readiness validation in conjunction with other AWS teams.
• Reporting performance metrics such as physical security system installation vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, post installation defect rates, physical security program analysis, etc.
• Collaborate across teams to drive global, regional, and local security initiatives.
• Serves as an on-call emergency support to security operations teams and assists in responding to alarms or security incidents, conducting investigations, handing off relevant findings or closing the event by executing appropriate reporting requirements.
• Support Cluster Security Managers by providing physical security analysis and recommend program enhancements to maximize security at locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years working with physical security design and/or implementation of electronic security systems such as Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, and CCTV Surveillance systems. Familiarity with security in depth strategies.
- 2+ years in program or project management, working with both technical and non-technical teams focusing on physical security standards and designs.
- 2+ years incorporating NISPOM, ICD 705 and/or other U.S. government regulatory standards and requirements.
- Position requires frequent local travel to AWS facilities within a 60 mile radius throughout the DC/Metro area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiar project management and design and construction software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and system designs.
- Proficient understanding of construction plans, elevations, and other design and construction artifacts for architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and telecommunications plans.
- Training and Experience with Lenel Access Control Systems and Digital Monitoring Products.
- Training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
