The Operations Risk & Compliance (ORC) Talent Development team is looking for a Learning Experience Designer to reimagine compliance training through engaging, gamified, and decision-based learning. This role collaborates with program managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) globally to develop learning and performance support solutions, including virtual and instructor-led training, videos, eLearning modules, simulations, learning games, and electronic performance support systems.

In this role, the ideal candidate will apply knowledge of learning science, design, and instructional technologies to create and improve learning environments at scale. The role will continuously improve learning programs to drive content relevancy, utilization, innovation, and operational excellence.


Key job responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and Learning Business Partners to conduct detailed training needs assessments.
- Use graphics and multimedia to design visually engaging learning content.
- Conduct task analysis to determine the optimal learning modality for skill development and proficiency.
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop solutions to improve learner retention, job performance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Develop e-learning modules, ILT facilitator and participant guides, reference materials, and other learning resources.
- Establish standardized processes and templates for consistent and scalable learning solutions.
- Implement evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness and business impact of learning initiatives.
- Track and manage curriculum in the Learning Management System (LMS), continuously assessing the effectiveness and scalability of delivery methods.
- Continuously innovate and produce visually stunning content that captivates and raises storytelling standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, consistently improving content quality and impact.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, with minimal oversight.


About the team
The ORC team ensures compliance with safety laws and regulations across global marketplaces, supporting Amazon’s commitment to safety and regulatory adherence. The ORC Talent Development team develops impactful learning solutions to transfer knowledge, enhance individual and organizational performance, and achieve Worldwide Operations goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- 5+ years’ experience in instructional design, training program management, and project management
- Available online portfolio
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent post-secondary experience) in Instructional Design, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proficiency in performance analysis, learning needs assessment, the design and development of learning and performance support solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and eLearning development software (e.g. Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia)
- Ability to travel as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or a related field.
- Instructional Design, eLearning development, and project management certifications.
- Familiarity with current research in learning sciences and its application to instructional design.
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management, prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated customer focus and technical/business acumen.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
