Amazon Web Services is looking for a Systems Program Manager to manage configuration, act as an subject matter expert (SME) on capabilities, and serve as a primary point of contact for their third party cloud-based construction management software.

The Systems Program Manager will need to be detailed, flexible and take strong ownership of a global user base, including system functionality and process implementation. The successful candidate will be obsessed with internal and external system user groups, responsible for scoping and driving implementation of system functionality to the global team. They will be able to work independently to prioritize, craft, and execute deliverable as well as effectively work with partner teams that impact their primary user group.

This role is part of the Data Center Capacity Delivery organization that is diverse, positive, exceptionally talented, driven and responsible for the design, construction and operation of industry leading data center facilities. They will need to excel at managing multiple priorities and learning the pain points of their primary users, being able to execute system implementation effectively across subject matter experts with a broad range of disciplines and/or cultural or regional differences. The ideal candidate operates effectively in an ambiguous environment and drives structure without constraining business objectives. They have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects and driving them to completion. Because the person in this role will influence global team members, they will also need to be highly collaborative and able to influence without authority while also being able to work with significant autonomy.

The Systems Program Manager will be responsible for leading and driving global initiatives that empower global construction to operate more efficiently and effectively. This includes establishing system mechanisms that enable teams to consistently deliver against defined standards, globally; managing system standards and enhancements for global internal and external users; auditing the team’s metrics to identify and address trends or issues; and supporting the introduction of new technology that enables greater efficiencies within the construction management life cycle.

The software product, overall, is intended to provide a single platform for collaboration between AWS teams and external groups to deliver some of the most technical, cost-efficient and fast paced data center construction projects in the world. The Systems Program Manager will be responsible for:

· Managing existing and new system configuration of a third-party construction management software, providing support to global internal and external system users.
· Acting as SME on capabilities of the construction management software.
· Working with global teams to implement systems and process improvements.
· Utilizing team metrics to identify pinch points within current processes and implement solutions to address efficiency issues.
· Working closely and effectively with the third-party software company to manage overall performance, including the identification, communication, documentation, implementation, and resolution of system related issues and enhancements.
· Scoping and driving implementation of feature enhancements or improvements.
· Providing primary point of contact and ownership of ongoing system implementation and functionality.
· Developing, managing and reporting on system policies and compliance.
· Creating and supporting large scale, cross company technical innovations/solutions for complex business problems.
· Guiding and influencing people and processes in pursuit of the teams’ goals and objectives
· Driving continuous improvements and documenting best practices post launch.
· Monitoring user adoption post-training / implementation and own user satisfaction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of project, program or product related professional experience.
- 5+ years experience acting as a SME and primary point of contact for a global system through in person and virtual methods in multiple countries.
- 3+ years experience with design and construction management software tools such and/or project or workflow management software.
- 3+ years experience with the full lifecycle of a software launch (kick-off, configuration, testing, user training, roll-out) or significant experience with portions of the lifecycle.
- 5+ years experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe thought-out decisions and develop long-term strategy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years working in a technology company environment.
- 3+ years experience with standard construction processes and file types such as design drawings, submittals, requests for information, change orders.
- Knowledge of basic construction administration practices, including but not limited to, drawing management, RFIs, Submittals, Inspections, and Issue tracking / resolution.
- Experience in data center or mission critical design and/or construction environments.
- Experience working in a complex corporate environment with significant dependencies with teams outside of immediate reporting chains.
- Drive to proactively and continually deepen your level of technical depth on data center design, construction and industry practices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
