Passionate about books and reading? The Books Kindle Content team is responsible for helping millions of customers find books they love through relevant content recommendations and innovative shopping experiences. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to own and drive strategic projects.

In this role you will partner with product, engineering and data science partners to build, test and evolve ML models that deliver increasingly personalized book recommendations to our customers. You will develop systems and services to scale personalization artifacts, enabling teams across Books to personalize every customer interaction. You’ll participate in developing the strategy and roadmap within the broader, highly-visible Customer Engagement team, and will own the day-to-day delivery of new experiments and features.

The right candidate is highly analytical, will demonstrate strong business judgement and understand the science concepts (algorithms) powering personalization experiences. The role is both strategic and operational, and is a great fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can think big while diving into the details to execute flawlessly. Successful candidates will have a track record of delivering technology products in a distributed and matrixed organization, through strong product management and problem-solving skills, and the ability to motivate, influence and collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.


Key job responsibilities
• Invent, incubate, and manage product and feature concepts that connect new and existing readers with books they love.
• Develop product requirements, prioritize key initiatives and manage milestones with inputs from stakeholders across the organization related to core ML models, content ranking, and a suite recommendation services.
• Own and manage a portfolio of books recommendation strategies, including tracking, optimizing and reporting on their performance.
• Help define product strategy and manage the product roadmap (both directly for the Core Recommendations team and within the broader Customer Engagement organization).
• Enable teams across the Books organization to create personalized experiences for customers by building and scaling personalization systems and services.
• Communicate with senior management and other business/technical partners on product decisions, key results and durable learnings, program status and risks
• Operate with significant autonomy to deliver results and achieve the goals and objectives of both your team and the broader organization.

The Kindle Customer Experience Product Management team owns the customer facing software experiences across all Kindle devices and apps - ranging from how you read, navigate, acquire content and more. Our mission is to be the world's favorite place to read, write and get more out of reading.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
- 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
