We are looking for a highly-determined, highly-curious, Sr. UX Designer to join our team in our downtown Seattle location. In this role, this Sr. UX Designer will focus on improving personalized journeys and celebrated milestones for our Books customers which are shaped by their personal preferences. They will focus on customer needs across Amazon, our Kindle Apps and Kindle E-readers. This person will work collaboratively with team of product managers, engineers, executives, and other design teams at Amazon, to improve how customers shop for their next great read. Candidates must be responsive, adaptable and be energized by a fast-paced environment with a high-degree of independence and ownership.
Key job responsibilities
• Create elegant, intuitive user experiences that meet the evolving needs of our customers across multiple global marketplaces.
• Lead the planning and strategic phases of a project. Proactively pitch new CX ideas, backed by a strong, well-articulated rationale.
• Understand target users deeply: develop or work from user profiles and conduct task analysis, create user scenarios or use stories.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications for web, mobile web and app interfaces using Figma.
• Be a champion for user testing by partnering with researchers to get your solutions in front of customers; and be willing to conduct scrappy, around-the-office user testing on your own if required.
• Contribute to user interface design guidelines and development best practices and standards at Amazon
• Independently deliver UX solutions for problems of large scope and complexity.
• Work through ambiguity, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Work well across different time-zones.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
